overheating help!!! [94 Civic w/ 2000 B18B1]
i have a94 honda civic with a 2000 ls motor and ive had it about a year and i recently started driving it and some things broke like usual when driving a car but still the car ran great. recently it started overheating and i replaced the thermostat, it doesnt overheat really bad i can driove it for 10 minutes straight and itll go little past half. but what happen was i drove it and one day i stopped at my buddies and popped the hood and i had no coolant it went into the over flow and sprayed out the overflow cap. so i drove it home and changed the therm. and put new coolant in. went for a ride still overheated a little. my question to anyone is, is it the water pump which is what i think, and if it is is it easy to change?
You'll have to remove the cover on the timing belt and look for coolant out of the pump weep hole.
First I would bleed the cooling system to make sure all of the air is out. Maybe do a compression check if you ran without coolant for any length of time.
Is the radiator cap fairly new?
