Are VTEC engines more modificated than Type-R engines?

Type-r engine does come with a vtec head (b18c5).

i'll try to give you a straight answer. itr engines are vtec. when compared to b18c's from gsr's, from the factory itr engines, b18c5 and b18c, have a different casting head that has a mild port job, bigger cams, higher compression, lsd short ratio tranny, and a range of other things. in short, itr engines are more modified than other b series vtec engines.
