Default VTEC/V-AFC Question

We are working on a 94 turbo civic with a vtec d16 swap. The wiring harness isn't vtec or the ecu. The ecu has had a chip installed, though. Not sure what kind. Anyway, we are in the process of installing a vafc for a customer.

And obviously the non-vtec wiring harness doesn't have the two vtec solenoid signal and pressure wiring and pins. So do we need to add two pins into the ecu plug-ins for the vtec solenoid signal and pressure wires at A4 and D6 locations for the vafc and vtec to work properly together? Or can we just skip the ecu and use the vafc to control the vtec exclusively?

Thanks for the help.

the controller, as well as the pressure and solenoid valve will all have to be hard wired to the ECU or the computer won't know thats going on and it will try to change certain a/f ratios as soon as the vtec kicks on I would deffinetly add the D6 and A4 to the ECU it lets the brain of your car know why you get that extra kick of power.
