PM6 Tuning
D16a6 motors are very good. you can get as much power out of the than the vtec versions. They are also easier to tune as you dont have to mess with vtec. You also donot have to convert to OBD1 as there are ODB0 tuning tools Turboedit BRE... these are free and found at pgmfi.org

I've been doing some homework, and you're right about the tuning. I'm keeping my eye out for a PM6 out of a 90-91 Si so I can chip a new EPROM for tuning. I've found quite a bit of helpful info at xenocron.com for the chipping process and using TurboEdit. I'd like to find someone that can do the soldering for me and program the EPROM, because I just don't have the tools to do it right. I'd also like to find a good tuner in the area that has experience with TurboEdit.
If you haven't signed up yet, check out http://forum.pgmfi.org has a turboedit section that has a wealth of information on tuning OBD0 systems.

I'm planning to stick with the stock compression ratio(9.1:1), so I'm wondering if it's actually necessary to chip and manually tune a PM6, or if the stock basemaps are sufficient. I posed that question over there, so I guess I'll find out soon enough.
Even a stock motor can benefit a little bit from more aggressive ignition maps, if so desired. I would say that tuning is a great idea for both power and longetivity.
I wonder if I could use Prelude injectors to supply more fuel. I think the stock CRX injectors are 220cc and the Prelude injectors are 260cc. I think that would be plenty for an N/A build :dunno:
