Default turbo b16 not lookin good!!!please help!

OK SOOO i finish the whole set up and took out the wastegate spring so i wouldnt build boost. everything seems to be going cool for a couple days. than i go to a cscs even (local tunner event) dont race just watch. when i leave im driving home on a single lane hwy..behind grandma slow ass. so i drop to 4th take off, rev to about 7 grand (with b16a) and befor i can shift the engine light comes on and the car dies.

i pull over check under the hood, nothing looks out of the ordinary. start the car up and goes fine..........
this happens another time except the car doesnt die, the engine light comes on and the cars starts to run a little rougher....... i shut off the car and start it up again and everything is ok again.....

please help guys.. i want to go to the dyno and get it tuned soon i just dont want to get there to find my engine is shit, or somthing else is f#cked.

things to consider:
**only running one 02 sensor and b16 requires 2 just have the running into the one wire.
(have a 90 integra 02 i was going to hook up this weekend once the rest of the exhust gets finished.
**running no wastgate spring as mention befor.
**havnt swaped over my rc440 injectors yet (waiting til i go to dyno)
***still running the obd0 ecu----going to a p28 once at the tune shop
**havnt installed my colder spark plugs (again waiting til i go to tune shop to install them)

anything you guys know about this would help me group ideas together...
thanks hope that helps.

first thing first, look at the code and find out what it is, it could be a number of things, but we can help tell we know the code.

Exactly where I was going. We can't tell you much without the code.

The number of O2 sensors isn't dependent on the motor, it's dependent on the ECU. If your ECU is only looking for one, then you only need one.

I personally think it's stupid that you're even driving the car, let alone 'getting on it' to pass people, with a turbo on the car trying to run it like it's N/A. I'd baby the crap out of it until you get it to the tuner. I hope you took the entire diaphram and everything out of the wastegate and not just the spring because you've likely ruined the diaphram if you didn't.

Come on man, are you serious??

WHY would you push your motor, KNOWING you don't have the right parts in it yet...
U need the injectors, for starters... You're stock ones with a stock program aren't adequate... Actually, u better hope u didn't run too lean, or you're F&*ed...
Stock spark plugs, come on man...:nono:

its not like i was just rippin it in the car... i needed to pass someone thats all. i know i shouldnt have pushed it that much but....i dont know i just shouldnt have. any way to get a code number i think i would have to push it til it came on again wouldnt i, and then hook up the connection wire on the passenger side.. or do i hook it up befor hand and try to get the light to come one?? because like the check engine will not ocme on unless its pushed to 7grand in 4th ... is there another way to get the code to read...

If it is not throwing a code and driving alright, just leave it alone until you get it tuned. No more passing granny drivers to risk blowing up a setup with a decent amount of money invested into it.

If the problem comes back when tuning it and actually running boost, you then should be concerned.

The code will stay in the 'memory' of the ECU. Jump it and check for one. It will only be reset if you remove all power to it, from my experience. I wouldn't be pushing your car past 4k...

You didn't answer my question about the wastegate diaphram. Did you leave that in?

Hey man, I'm not trying to rip on you, just lettin you know you could destroy your setup even before you get to have fun with it.
So u pushed it, I understand, just dont do it again...
As for the code, technically it will probably stay in the ECU even though it's not reappearing (w/out taking it to 7k rpms) and you could probably check the code using the jumper.
Keep us posted...

code 3 is a map sensor...which means you probably did hit boost. Park the car until you can get it tuned.

I had to drive 150miles each way to get my car tuned the otherday. I didnt even have a basemap. I had my turbo installed...but my OEM injectors, and plugs. I took it VERY easy...never past 1/2 throttle shifting at 3k every gear and accidently got into boost i think once crossing a intersection and the CEL came on ASAP. I shut the car off and restarted it and it went away and i made sure i didnt do that again.
