Default 5th Gear Pop out Problem... HELP!

Ok, I have a 95 LS with 163,000 miles on it. I just changed my MTF (with honda MTF) and within about 20 hours my transmission started slipping my car from 5th into neutral while I am driving.

What on earth is going on? Is this something I missed when I changed the fluid? Is this my clutch going?

Any help would be amazing, I am getting an 03 CL type S in about 3 months... but I need this car to last me till then and it has been great up until now!

It could be popping out of gear cause you put in Transmission fluid instead of regular oil... Honda's are DIFFERENT, even dsm's use MTF but Honda/Acura use engine oil...
What did u use?
Honda Manual transmission Fluid?
Honestly, I never used this I just followed recommendations and use Engine oil...
I am not positive, but I'm pretty sure the Honda B-series trannies don't use a "manual transmission fluid" they are supposed to use 10W-30 oil (not exactly sure on the oil)
Could be your problem, I'd say drain it out and put in some synthetic oil, see if it fixes the problem.

Ok, so one vote for clutch, one vote for wrong fluid and one vote for I used the right fluid...

All I read about when I search for this is something about bearings and replacing transmissions. My clutch is getting up there in age, would it pop out of gear if it was going? I thought it would just be harder to get into gear.

not nesicarily i was going 85 in my car and my clutch poped out and i went from like 85 to 0 in a matter of seconds it hurt lol

replace the clutch and see if it fixed it also go out and buy some dr. tranny e-z shift greese and pour that in your tranny it will loosen any stuck parts but make sure u add it to the tranny when the tranny is warm or else it wont go in the tranny but i am almost certin that it is the clutch

also when it comes to trannys honda know what they are doing seriously.... their trannys are made to with stand up to 700 hp without any problems and the LS motor probally put out 130 to 19 hp with or with out mods so that tranny is still verry good unless u dont know know how to drive stantard half ass decent then get an auto...

it also depends on which side the clutch it messing up on to make a difference going in or if it pops out

Do you know what transmission fluid is? Oil. I never had a problem running dino 10-40 in my transmissions, but honda does recommend its MTF....because they sell it.

If it was the clutch, it would happen in every gear. It's transmission related. Are you sure you filled the transmission completely? Any leaks?

Dude, have you ever done any work on your car?? Do you even have a repair manual??
I am assuming both answers are NO, because I KNOW I am right, as I was unsure just like you were about using ENGINE oil in the Tranny...
I have replaced my tranny fluid (oil) many times, and I am positive that you use OIL (unsure of the viscosity, my haynes is not on me)
Yes this is VERY different than most other cars, but go ahead and find out for sure if you don't believe me, it's true...
My car has OIL in th tranny, and I never pop out of gear

P.S. Don't buy any extra crap (Dr. helper fluids) for the transmission!!
