Default Tuning??

Hey,
I posted this on the PGMFI.ORG forums, but I got no responses, hope u guys can help.
I got the Burn1 USB programmer from moates and I am trying to MODIFY my bin file to change the VTEC point. Problem is, when I read my chip and open it in Uberdata, the values seem way off and it doesn't look like the correct bin file. I've been on the stupid wiki's that everyone says to read, and I can't find any info at all.
Does anyone know how to read a chip then modify it in uberdata? the current chip program was created in uberdata, so why can I not open it up and simply change just the VTEC point, and NOT change the values for the fuel and ignition??
Please, pgmfi.org is NO help thanks

9) How do I change my VTEC crossover point?

Click on the "Rev Limits Tab, change the enable/disable rpm's to what ever you like, then click apply.

I assume you're using the Uberdata ROM editor, or a ROM editor of some sort and not just trying to modify all the hex values blindly. I've never had a problem with anything on PGMFI. My roommate used to do all kinds of ECU work, and that's where he got all his info.

if you change the vtec x-over you'll need to make fuel and timing adjustments to compensate

Because the guy who originally tuned my car thought it was a good idea to set the VTEC engagement at 4100 rpms??
Do people not understand what VTEC does/is? It hurts performance to have it turn on too low...
I do not know why he did this, I would have changed it but he just gave me his chip to use...
1. Because I can feel the power loss when VTEC turns on
2. Becuase when driving on the highway I cannot go faster than 80mph without hitting VTEC and WASTING tons fuel

LOL, why don't u agree with my sig??

If the values don't make sense, it probably wasn't created using uberdata. Uberdata hex values are not compatible with Crome/Hondata or vice versa.

yeah, they definitely don't make sense... Good point, although I know he used Uberdata for my first chip, he could very well have used Crome for the second one... He didn't use Hondata at all...
I'll check it out tonight...
Schmoo, u use uberdata right? I was thinking of using crome instead, what do you think?

Crome is way better than Uberdata. It is a much easier program to use with more options and new script constantly being written for it. I use Crome Pro and it makes my car run way better than it did with Uberdata.
