Default should i put vtec head on dx

I was wondering i got a 96 civic dx coupe and i have intake and exhaust and some other **** done to it. I was wondering how much a d16y8 head would cost and would i need to get anything else with it like intake manifold and stuff? also how much would it cost for me to get that installed by a professional cuz i dont think i could do that by myself. Also what kind of gains can i expect from that and would it be worth it? thanks

for the cost of all the parts and prep work to put on that head, especially to have it done by a shop, you'd be better off just buying a D16Y8 and putting in the whole engine. Then just plug in the ECU, and you're done.
