Default VTEC head on a non-VTEC block?

my 92 DX has the d15b7 in it... stock non vtec. is it possible to wire up an Si or other ECU and VTEC controller, slap a vtec head (off what SOHC motor?) and be on my merry way?
Here is my current setup... iceman intake, strut bar, and dc sport header has not been installed yet.

D16Z6 head.Either hard wire to the ecu (from the Z6) or vtec controller. You need the complete upper portion IM/TB/FR and INJEC./EM.Throw in a si tranny and you got a good cheap upgrade.

like he said, you'll just need the head, IM, TB, you'll also need ignition wires, and it's just easier to use the z6 dist. Then you can just hook up the ecu, and add the 3 wires for vtec, and you're on your way. This setup should, in theory, get you more power than a z6 because of the compression.

A SOHC Vtec swap is cheap. Just ditch the whole motor.

At my local shop, about $650 will get you a complete d16y8 installed.
