calling all honda tech's(HELP!!!!!) 97civic 4dr dx idle problems

Default calling all honda tech's(HELP!!!!!) 97civic 4dr dx idle problems

I have a 97 civic 4dr 1.5 dx motor (mom"s car)
I was driving the car the other day and notice that the car idles really low
i don't know much about the dx motors ,but my integra was the FICV control valve and i just adjusted it . I can't find it on the dx motor

can anyone help:crazyr: :awais: :wavey: :af: :wtf:

I'm having the same problem in my 1997 Civic DX. I just had a tune up with new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap & rotor with 89 octane gas and I"m still getting the same problem! Then I cleanned my AEM - K&N filter also.
I think I will now change the fuel filter and that little PCV part and hopefully that should make a difference.

Beginning somewhere around '96 Honda got rid of the FITV & incorporated it's job into the IACV. Clean out the IACV, then maybe you'll have to set the base idle.

Normal tune-up stuff like spark plugs isn't a bad idea either.
