Default 2.3vtec oil jet discussion

to end this discussion...and if anyone cares...you cannot use the vtec oil jets in a 2.3 block. while it will definitely bolt up, it will pose problems for other parts. its not the crank that is the problem although they came very close. the problem is the piston, before it can reach btdc it will touch the oil jet. so there goes that idea.

for enlightening purposes...i had put in my balanced 2.3 crank into my jdm 2.2 block with the oil jet installed. i just put in my pistons/rods (type s pistons/usdm 2.3 rods) today, and i found the true reason it will not work as stated above.

hope this helps with any confusion

you can shave down the skirts on the pistons so they will clear, or you can put shims under the oil squirters

you can't shim the jets. that will make them touch the crank, and will throw off the direction of the oil flow.

and i was thinking of modifying the pistons, but i already had everything balanced and i wasn't going to ruin that.
