P06 vs.P75

Default P06 vs.P75

I recently just purchased a 93 civic hatch with a 98 b18b1 motor in it and i noticed that he is using the civic obd1 p06 ecu is this ok? Should i switch over to the p75 or something else what should i use?????

Move to an OBD-I PR4 or P74/75. The P06 is the D15B7 (DX/LX) computer.

yeah i noticed i dont get that much low end torque, would this be the reason why

It's a Honda, that's why it has no low end torque.

I didn't say I didn't like Hondas, they just don't shine in the torque department.

this particular honda doesnt have a problem with torque

i've seen the maps on a p06 compared to the LS, there is biiig difference.

my friend was in a pinch and ran my p75 on his Dx powered car, and it ran pretty bad, but it ran...

187lb-ft of torque is still not that wonderful. Sorry to blow your bubble.

i know its not wonderful. its just not as common to see equal hp and tq numbers from a honda...even in FI applications.

That's just because the heads flow too well. Look at turbo engines that flow like ass (12v Mazda F2 turbo, for example) and they pump big torque with crappy horsepower.
