Default Cel 22 help

93 civic with the z6, I get cel 22, which I know is the vtec oil pressure switch/sensor.

Heres the kicker, it passes all the tests that the Haynes manuel says to check, and vtec works for the first say 10 minutes of driving but after that it cuts out and then throws that code.

I'm confused, do I need the whole switch or is there something simplier then that that could fix this issue?

I hate to bring up the obvious, but how long has it been since you changed your oil?? Same thing happened to my Accord when I went a little over on my oil change.

so did you check the oil level? is the spool valve leaking oil? its controlled by oil pressure so if the passage is clogged or its low on oil then it wont work correctly. try replacing the spool valve(vtec solenoid). maybe take a power probe and activate the solenoid maually a bunch of times and see if it malfunctions

Oil level is fine, I'll double check the seal around the spool valve, and if thats not the case take it off and check for clogging issues. Thanks for the ideas, I'll post back up on friday/saturday when I get the time to take things apart/look at them more closely
