I don't have any experience with Crome unfortunately (I'd sure like to have some) but Schmoo says he's had good results and it costs substantially less than Hondata and a briefcase less than AEM EMS.
Crome is pretty similar to hondata minus the 3d graphs. Crome only has the tables and 2d graphs. If you are tuning yourself, hondata is much more friendly. You dont have to bother with plugins, worrying about it connecting to the ecu, finding a separate datalogginer, ostrich problems...etc. Hondata is just alot more simpler.

I chose to tune with crome because its a grip cheaper and in the end, does the same thing as the other paid programs, and it has ITB support.

the hardware isnt the hard part. You only need a wideband, ostrich, and a datalogging cable. If you tune other cars, you will need a burner as well.

The hard part is getting it all setup and running. Thats the main problem i had with mine. But once it was setup, everything was fine.

True. That is really what I meant to say. All the hardware can be found on moates, but getting the laptop configured to work with the hardware can be really tricky.
