Default head gasket

Whats the going rate to have the head gasket replaced? on a 99 teg gsr? just trying to see a ballpark of what it should cost..thanks

The labor rate is somewhere between 6-7 hours for head gasket R&R. My closest honda/acura dealer charges a rate of $75/hour. Plus there are other parts most shops will recommend you to replace while the head is off.

Gasket is less then $100, tools required = less then $100 so I'm going to say about $150 or so.....


Want a shop to do it? expect to pay $75+ an hour for labor and $100 in parts....It's really not as hard as it seems, just time consuming...
All you need is a good tq wrench, some metric sockets (12pt sockets for the head studs) and some patients.
