i would go with a b16a2 and boost it. b18c1 you will spend atleast $3000 on the swap if not more. with a b16a2 you will have room to play once you get it installed.

EDIT:
Although a b18c1 is well worth the investment, a jdm b16a2 is a wopping 15 hp less, and that ground can be made up real fast.

b16a2 full swap will probally cost about $2200.00 and a b18c1 about $3000.00 and LSD will be an additional $300.00

the big differences between the b16a an the b18c1 is the torque and cost..
imo b16a2>b18c1

starting to lean toward the b16a2. i guess it would be more cost effective and i still need to buy a donor car!!! what would be the best way to start an all-motor b16a2 setup?

if ur looking to go quick... B18B, save up a little and piece together a turbo setup... B18C1 if u want to go all motor.... honestly i dont think the B16 is worth the money you dump into it unless u have it...

but then again unless u just want the vtac... go for b16A its cheaper but i doubt itll be any faster than what you have now....

If your going with turbo get either the b16a or b18b (cheaper and both make great power with boost)
If your going to keep it N/A then by all means get the b18c. The b18b and b16a are not the best choices for all motor (since you did menton that ls/vtec was out of the question).
If your undecided about asperation then go with the b18b. If you go n/a you can add a b18c head and make good power and if you go with turbo you'll make even better power.
the b16a is good ONLY if your boosting (IMO)....LSD is worth every penny.
