Default oil leaking. please help

i fried my piston ring in cylinder number 2 and was burning oil awhile back.. I got the block bored .25 over with new jdm itr pistons and rings and got the head redone with new seals. today i finally got it started today and everything was fine.. took it for a test ride around the block and came to find out that i was leaking oil between the head and motor and also notice a little amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust after about 5 minutes of driving. my question is did i do something wrong when installing the head gasket?? i did everything according to the helms book.. i just want to hear some thoughts and advise before i go back and pull off the head again. almost forgot the oil only leaks out when i'm driving not at idle. thanks in advance..

my setup
b18c1
jdm itr piston
dc 4 to 1 header
intake and exhaust

I hope you didn't reuse the old headgasket. That is a big no-no.

Or you may have had a special moment like I did and installed the head gasket on upside down.

i bought a new oem gasket from acura. did everything the book told me too.. I install the head gasket correctly also.. i also heard people having there head gasket blown at start up, think that could have happen to me? the shop that install my piston told me my compression is at 11.5 or so..

a shop told me that it becasue i didn't get block re-surface. he then told me i can just use a ticker oil and it will take care of the oil leak unless i want to pull my motor out and have the block resurface.. any thoughts?

Was the head resurfaced? Did the headgasket ever blow out?

A thicker oil probably won't be the solution to your problem. I would avoid that method.

Where exactly is the oil leaking from? from of motor, back of motor, underneath the dizzy, under the VTEC solenoid, etc etc. Did you remove any sensors or anything when you had the block rebuilt? Are we talking about a couple of drips? or is it a huge puddle?

I had one of those "moments" that Schmoo was talking about too. When I was putting reinstalling my oil cooler on my GSR after the motor got rebuilt the large O-ring on the back of the oil cooler fell off while I was reinstalling it. This cause me to leak a lot of oil. It looked like the oilpan was leaking but after looking closer it was actually up a little higher.

The oil cooler o-ring is just one of the possibilities. It could also be leaking out of the stock oil pressure sender hole, the oilpan, the VTEC solenoid or dizzy, or maybe it is leaking from between the block and head. Just look at the easy things first and work your way to the parts that would be hard to check.

Only OBD1 B18C1 motors have stock oil coolers. I agree with BlueShadow; you should check where the oil is leaking exactly.

the head was resurface at Contempory Auto. I never had a blown head gasket before on that motor. I just fried piston rings in cylinder 2, which cause the re-build.

at idle its not leaking oil, but after a normal drive around the block oil starts to leak out.. its not a lot but enough..it's kinda hard to tell where the oil is leaking exactly from because the oil is new and clear.. it seems to be leaking below the vtec were the head and block connects.. if it's not so dark tonight i'll snap some photos and post it up. oh, and yes, i didn't remove all the sensor from the head.
