loss of power h22b2
ok guys im not completely ignorant with mechanics, however i come from the mustang world and hondas are a little out of my expertise. ok anyways i have a 1996 honda accord lx 5 speed and it runs fairly well except i need first a link to somewhere to purchase a shifter bushing kit or somethig to get the slop out of my shifter. ok on to the loss of power, after it warms up on a not long but decent highway drive ill be cruising along in 5th gear and it loses power. it feels almost like something is bogging it down. if i floor it it will pick the power back up or if i downshift it will pick the power back up however if i just keep cruising same throttle position it will go from cruising 70 to 60 to 50 very quickly any help is appreciated. mods done to the motor include a cold air intake, stainless 4-2-1 header bolted to factory cat and muffler. new plugs, new wires. im about to go purchase a new dizzy cap and rotor. thanks for everything and any help guys.
if its high mileage I would check the pickup sensor, or trigger or whatever its called in the dist, I replaced the cap rotor coil and my car still did that. got a whole new dizzy and bam fixed. might or had a cracked dist housing though idk forsure, could also be a dirty injector, intake leak, tps reading off a bit, low compression in one or 2 cyl, plugged cat, if it has egr valve check it aint pluged or stuck open some of these throw engine codes you got a check engine light on? or my personal favorite.. rusted/corroded ground. check things out grab a multimeter, service manual or google and have at er, good luck man
