yeh it turns out they are about 400-500 pounds hear, the guy gave me a price of a spoon *style* header!!
However i can defo get a brand new 4-1 or 4-2-1 dc ceramic header delivered to me for 280 pounds, thats the cheapest ive seen it! its at www.trikmods.com i know the guy whos company it is.

Im thinking one of the DC headers either the 4-2-1 or the 4-1, has any one got any pictures of just how low they hang? or dynographs so i can see the power differances between the 4-1 and 4-2-1 . Dc's web site shows the fitting a 4-1 to a civic but not a level photo of it so i cant see how much it hang down by. thanks, ste

If your car is really slammed then I'd play it safe and get the 4-2-1. It doesn't seem like you have serious performance plans for the car and so I don't think the difference in performance potential between the 4-1 and 4-2-1 is large enough to be worth the risk of scraping. There's only so much you can do with the stock collector size anyway, if you wanted to make high power you'd be looking at something with big primaries and a 2.5" collector and then you'd definately scrape the hell out of it.

well i'm torn between n\a or turbo......my plans were to go decat full system, 4-1 header, stage2 cams, inlet manifold, throttle body, hondata s300, lightened flywheel, short ratio box and LSD etc and then see how happy i was then, maybe if im really unhappy a could but a low boost turbo or blower on it too.

wot type of power do you tend to see from those sort of mods?? i kno it will only be v.rough estimates!

Well honestly if you're going to go heavy on the mods then you're starting off all wrong. You'll want to get a high quality 4-1 header. There are headers that will easily clear even with your car so low, but they are quality pieces and will cost some cash.

The power you make will depend highly on the quality of the parts you choose. If you look around the web you'll find b16s with moderately hot cams and then some crappy bolt ons making 160-170 whp, and b16s with quality bolt ons and just Type R cams making 180-190 whp. Given aftermarket cams and good components all around I think 200whp is a reasonable goal for a moderately modded b16.

Is whp horse power at wheels? yeh i'd be happy with 200-220bhp i mean its only 160bhp standard, im at 175bhp now and ive still got loads of stuff to do....so if i get like 10bhp off an intake manifold, and like 10bhp off a 4-1 header ( ive decided on a new dc 4-1 it doesnt hang as low as i'd thought!! pics on www.superstreetonline.com/howto/32378/ and im gonna get all other little bits and a s300 hondata which should release like another 10bhp, so i'd defo be pretty pissed off or not trust one the components im using if i dont get at least 200-205bhp, im gonna fit each part then dyno it anyways to make sure it works well with my set up. I know 10bhp for these mods i list above maybe a bit low or even high, but im just being very basic, i mean i havent even mentioned the stage 2 cams power increase, on that note has any1 used the kent stage 2 cams on a b16a2? they reckon they're like 20-30bhp increase as long as your other mods permit it? does this sound a bit far-fetched?
thanx ste
