Default Need some help with the P.O.S. ????

Heres the deal:
me and my buddy just got done putting together his turbo type r. when it came time to start. the engine would turn over but wouldn't start.
after checking the fuel pump...injectors...fuel pressure regulator....and all ignition components we got it to start.

the problem is now that it is very hard to start and idles very badly. It also has NO pedal response at all. The only way to get the car to stay on is by constantly pumping the gas pedal.

We have checked most of the stuff we could think of checking. We are pretty sure it is fuel related but no sure what.

Any help would be awesome. there might be something we didn't think of or possibly looked over. Thanks for the help.

What kit did you install? What alterations to the wiring or fuel system did you do?

Its the greddy kit for the gsr...the kit has been on before so we know its nothing to do with that.

the motor was just pulled apart to be built. this all happened after reassembly.

there aren't really any alterations in the wire harness other than the injectors that were soldered on.

we checked all the ignition compenents, and timed the motor a few times to make sure that was correct.

I was wondering that if a leaking head gasket that was leaking coolant into the combustion cylinder could cause the 2,3,4 cylinders to not fire..

any ideas plz let us know, were desperate..

Could be the head gasket, are you getting any smoke? I just had that problem and the way you decribe it is exactly how mine was acting up with a bit of smoke, not a lot, but definitly noticable. If you disconnected any sensors double check those too, my MAP and TPS sensor look identical and the first time we started mine up after the rebuild it idled pretty bad since those two were mixed up. Anyways, good luck.

Yeah, we checked those sensors...they were on there correct.

I didn't notice any smoke but there are plenty of back fires and pops coming out of there.

:dunno:
