Default Broken timing belt 93' 2.3L at 104k

Timing belt just broke on my 93' Prelude Si w/ 2.3L (H23A1, (non-V)) at 104k.
Was on hiway at 75mpg when died, tach went to 0, but there was also no noises.
Guess I should have known BEFORE that these engines do not have "interference fit" valves/piston. Shop says the values have been bent and is look for a replacement engine. But that going to be hard to find and $$$.
My question is have any of you just used rebuilt the head and left it at that, or is there a good chance a piston is damaged as well?
Any other advice would be great, like good but affordable mail order rebuilts.

If the vavles are bent, there's only one thing that could have done it. They were hit by the pistons. How badly are the pistons damaged? Nobody can guess that without taking off the head & actually looking. I guess you should be prepared to replace the pistons. If they're OK that's just a bonus. But don't hold your breath for it...

Pull the head off first and check to see if the pistons are bad. Dump some solvent into each cylinder and see if it drains, don't just go and assume that your pistons took a dump.

Default Broken Belt=Bent Valves

Thanks guys,
Did bend valves, easy to tell with valve cover off measuring valuve clearance. Pistons were OK.
And that CRANK BOLT!!! Holly Shit was that hard to get off, but I did.
Anyway, 6 weeks latter and it's all back to gether and running nice.

I have seen plenty of valves hit the pistons and we just change the valves in most cases I would replace the head or get the head re machined but you probably don't need an engine or replace the pistons good luck
