JDM GSR dynoed.... with zex
first off it was dynoed on a Mustang 4 dyno. which reads about 8-10% lower than the usual old-school drum-style Dynojet ones. Its real hightech and can even do quartermile times and 0-60's. It also gives REAL accurate and constistent numbers.
about 150 whp peak
and about 180 whp peak with 65 shot with an average 40whp gain.
this is with the cam gears dialed in and timing retarded to 12 for nitrous safety. could probably have got 5 more whp with timing to 18.
with the cam gears tuned i got between 4 and 8 whp all between 3000rpm and 7000 rpm but lost around two whp at 8.
when compared to a US type R w/ intake, header, exhaust on the same dyno, i had between 5 and 12 more whp between 3 and 7000 rpm but it got me by like 4 whp about 7. pretty cool if you ask me. I guess i have just have a really strong motor.
i did about 10 runs in all and I actually got power that i can really feel through tuning. I highly recommend this to everyone with cam gears. I have charts and everything for proof, but I have not yet scanned them. My torque curve is very linear and you cant really discern where vtec engages. I will post everything once i get is scanned.
I went to Speednation, in pittsburgh, pa. Check em out at Speednation.com - really cool guys.

Sweet, good numbers. A couple of buddies of mine have been on that dyno too and it does average about 10% lower than a dynojet (they did the portable dynojet that's at carlisle and then used this one about a week later). I'm not to sold on the idea of doing acceleration (0-60 or 1/4 mile) on a dyno though. Something about trying to launch a car that's strapped down facing a solid wall scares me.
When I first read the thread name, I though it said "JDM GS-R dynoed ... with sex" I though, wow, that's a way to get your thread noticed. Seeya.

You should be running about 15 degrees of timing when on the nitrous.....12 is WAY too low. Also what was your bottle pressure at? 40 whp seems very low for a 65 shot.

hey guys. I think bottle pressure was a little low, but it is hard to keep it high without a warmer. I am running a larger fuel jet because it is still the stock civic fuel pump. stock timing is 14 right???? its what i was told and zex says to retard 2 degrees a run a step colder plugs. anyways i would rather be safe than sorry. dont wanna detonate. with VERY low bottle pressure (about 1 pund left in the tank) i lost by a car to a 13.4 camaro from about 45 to 100. by 120 he had like 3 cars on me. Surprised the **** outta him and me (my first loss
thanks guys
later
thanks guyslater
Dude, at least get a GSR pump or your motor isn't going to last long while on the juice. That's one reason you only got 40 whp by adding too much fuel for the nitrous. As for bottle pressure, you do have a gauge right? If not you need one. Optimum pressure is 900-1050.

yea, i got a zex gage. and i am purposely running it rich while i still have the stock civic pump. i will eventually get a walboro 255 pump, but i am a poor college student right now. unless you guys now anyone who has a gsr fuel pump for sale cheap, i would get that right away if possible.
and when i ran that camaro, i was only like 650 psi
and when i ran that camaro, i was only like 650 psi
If I was you I wouldn't spray with that fuel pump on there. I know someone using a single cam pump on a GSR swap with a 75 shot and he blew his fuel pump out.
