Default Please help--swap problem

I know all you smart guys out there can help me bring my husband in from the garage :naughty: He swapped a Japanese Acura Integra B18C into a '96 Honda Civic CX. The swap went fine, but it just doesn't run right...it has a very slow throttle response and the scanner will not communicate with the computer but it is getting power. I sure appreciate your help!!

Try checking the ignition timing.

If you could be a little more specific as to what the problem is, I could help you a little more specifically.

Using a Snap-on scanner, he cannot get any response from the computer. It says "no communication." It also has very slow throttle response but will RPM if throttled slowly. He suspects possible bad computer but would sure appreciate any input you can give!

Have you checked the ignition timing like I said?

What OBD is the ECU? If it isn't OBD2, it won't read it anyway. Maybe you can try rechecking with a known good USDM ECU.

if it isnt obd2 it wouldnt even hook up to the wiring harness. I too would try and source a friends/somebodies known good ecu.

Ok guys, he purchased another P72 ecu with no change in the results. Ignition timing is fine. On two occasions, with car idling, he unpluged two separate sensors, one time it was the MAP sensor and one time it was the throttle position sensor there was a dramatic change in throttle response and engine performance for the better. After reconnecting, it returned to the same problem. When he unhooked again, there were no results.

Is there any chance the Japanese '96 Acura Integra VTEC not OBDII?

Thanks for all your input!!
