Ok guys, he purchased another P72 ecu with no change in the results. Ignition timing is fine. On two occasions, with car idling, he unpluged two separate sensors, one time it was the MAP sensor and one time it was the throttle position sensor there was a dramatic change in throttle response and engine performance for the better. After reconnecting, it returned to the same problem. When he unhooked again, there were no results.

Is there any chance the Japanese '96 Acura Integra VTEC not OBDII?
