Default 01 GSR turbo project???

allright i've had my 01 integra gsr for about a year now, it's got about 75k miles on it with a new exhaust and i'm saving to get the Drag Turbo kit...and my question is what else do i need to get from the beginning to make my car reliable on a daily basis, but still be able to get up and go when i need it.

also...trying to keep stock internals for now till next summer when i plan to rebuild the entire motor to perfection w/ completely new internals!

I would ditch the crappy wastegate and fuel management system that Drag includes with their kits. Instead invest in a Tial wastegate and some tunable engine management system like Hondata or EMS. That will be the most reliable setup you can get.

If you are keeping the stock internals, keep the boost at the preset limit of the kit for now, just to be safe.

I had allready figured on getting a tunable EMS, but where can I get Hondata cause money is no object, because I believe in doing it right the first time to save money in the long run fixing problems I caused... second how much is Hondata?

If 'money is no object' why are you getting a drag kit? Go with something more potent like a Percision setup? I'd also drop the $1200 on the AEM EMS.

I'd go with Neptune over Hondata as well, if you can find a dealer near you and someone to tune it.

ya the gsr is a very reliable car...get the drag kit, ditch the fuel stuff they give u, get som 310rc injectors, an apexi vafc and electric boost controller and that car will screw and still be reliable.

You will need bigger than 310cc injectors. I recommend no smaller than 440cc. Doesn't the kit already come with injectors?

A VAFC is a terrible idea for boost. For little mods that require a little tuning like cams, they are fine, but you want either a chipped ECU or standalone for a turbo setup.

shmoo i've been reading these threads for about 4months now and you're one of the few people that actually sound like you know what the heck you're talking about... your advise is more credible to me, that and b/c you're car is very similar to how i want mine, sleepers are the way to go! nothing better than whooping up on some kid with a stock motor car that looks like something out of the movies!

also i don't think the kit comes with injectors but j/c will bigger injectors on my stock motor be cool cuz mine are about to the point that i want to replace them anyways...

I would definatly recomend hondata and some 450cc injectors. Not only will your car run better, it will make more power and be more reliable.
What are your final goald for the car power wise? The drag turbo I believe is t04b so it should be good for about 400 - 450whp. If your looking for more then that I would recomend going custom, plus is also cheaper. I have a t4OE trim and i'll be maxing mine out here real soon.
otherwise it's a great starting point (i'm also running a drag manifold.)
