Default H23a

I recently inquired about a H23A motor through some place in canada this is what i asked and what they told me ....
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm looking into swaping my engine from f23a to h23a i have a few questions

1.Will the H23A ECU come included?
2.Will i need to convert from OBD2 to OBD1?
3.Whats the average Horsepower this engine will put
out?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi there,

You don't need the ecu cause you can use the one which you have already
In your car and works perfect with the jdm H23a engine
We don't sell conversion kits, and the motor comes with 160HP
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
H23A with 160 hp? from what i know these engines put out 200+ hp or am i wrong ...plus why wouldnt they send the ecu with it ..something doesnt sound right ...i emailed them back but they have not yet responded any one know of any reputable places in south florida or close to that have h22/h23 jdm motors? or maybe something online ...

thnx

Default Your thinking H22...

The H23a motor is a non-VTEC engine with 160 hp and about 150 lb. ft of torque. It's a good platform but the H22 is better.

hey guy the h23 is a great motor to go with, even tho its not vtec its still a honda motor with a great flowing head design, if i were you i would maybe get some nice cams for the h23 the same specs as maybe the high lobe cam on a vtec cam and it would basically be the same thing, your idle might not be as good, and it may be a little lope to it, the h23 is a very torquey motor, has plenty of potential for boost. dont be fooled by the myths that H series is no good for boost, they do suffer from weak ringlands. As far as your computer goes, Im sure you might have some wiring issues, best advice is to just get a pre-fab wire harness and just plug and play.
If you got the h23 im sure youll like it. I know I have had one, in a 93 civic coupe, I smoked SI's all the time bone stock.

jdm puts their name on it and its got 160hp. slap a turbo on you rig right now and save the extra money for celebration.

Thanx for the feedback everyone..it was alot of help.

Flatliner..reason I was thinking about the swap was a bent crank so turbo wasnt an option

I bought a 93 accord with high ass mileage for everyday driving till i figure out what to do with my 6th gen accord
