brake master cylinder rebuild or replace?
The seals in my MC have been going bad for several months. When it's hot out (usually is in San Diego), I can feel the brake pedal squishing down to the floor when I apply the brakes. Kinda strange...hehe
Anyway, I know it's really easy to rebuild those hydraulic cylinders, I've done a couple clutch slave cylinders that way. If I rebuild it with fresh seals and springs, will it last? Or will I end up rebuilding it every couple months? Should I just spend some big dough and buy a new master cylinder? thanks

The squishing feeling isnt your seals going out......... its air that had gotten into your brake fluid system....... YOu would need to bleed the brakes of the air but mind as well go for a flush....

the car is a 91 CRX Si, it already has 4-wheel disc brakes.
I've bled the brakes many many times, between regular maintenance and replacing the rotors and doing 3 brake pad replacements.
It does need a brake flush, that much I know. I'll have to rent a power bleeder. The master cylinder is 268,000 miles old. It's pretty likely that it needs the seals replaced. But, I'll see about renting a power bleeder, and going from there.

I don't bother rebuilding MC's any more, too much hassle, and no guarantee that you won't have any burrs on the seal surfaces, which would just tear out the new seals anyways.
