Default Help needed

So i was installing a a/f gauge the other day. I was gonna wire it into the ecu for the sensor wire, but then i was talkin to brad, RiceBurninVtec, and he was telling me how all he did on his was wire it directly to the o2 sensor in the header. So i go out this morning to finish hooking everything up...there is no o2 sensor in my headers lol just the empty hole where it should go. Is this hurting my car by not have this sensor? And about how much are they to replace? Thanks

Ummmmm....so you have an empty hole and no oxygen sensor? That is really bad. Your computer cannot adjust fueling because it has nothing to base the fueling on. I would replace that asap but it will be pretty pricey.

If the O2 sensor is there, the white wire is what you need to hook it up to.

LOL, that is hilarious, u say its an ITR? I would install that 02 sensor ASAP, because your car is running off of pre-determined tables stored in it's memory. I bet u get that and your top end power will be much better, n u should get better gas mileage too.
Later,
Mike

well it also has a o2 sensor before the cat inlet so wouldn't that work in it's place?

OK, lets clear this up:

Do you or do you not have two O2 sensors? One upstream of the catalytic matrix and one downstream.

Is the hole in the header filled with a plug or just open?

I am really failing to understand the problem completely. If you have an ITR, it should have a short cat with one O2 sensor in the collector of the header and one after the catalytic matrix.
