Default turbo v.s Supercharger d16y8

Another question guys, since high compression pistons is a no go the I was wondering either a turbo or a supercharger for the d16y8. I know a turbo's psi can be changed from in the car and a superchargers cant and the turbo can get better hp gains. But I drive stop light to stop light so i'm looking for alot of off the line power and I heard supercharger delivered that better. Thank you

S/C will make more power from about 1k-3k in first gear. turbos will make more overall power than the s/c, and is faster.

Run a search, you should find your answer

Something that should have been done in the first place. There is no point in bringing this old and tired debate back up.
If you want true and accurate accounts of peoples experiences, research each product individually (research turbo's and peoples account, then research sc's and peoples account) you will find more accurate and unbiased info that way. If you research a "debate topic" all your going to find is "turbo's make more power" "sc's have better low end" "turbo this sc that".....a lot of info that is just hearsay. 90% of the people who run superchargers have never ran a turbo so they repeat info that they heard through a friend of a friends uncles wifes neighbor, and the same goes the other way. Very few people have had both products on the same honda engine, very few can give an unbiased account of their experience.
So do you want to know what joes neighbors wifes nephew's cousins bestfriends sisters lesbian cat has to say about this debate, or do you want to know peoples account of each product, from people who own them..

Oh if you really want to open this debate, you should include the "longer gearing is better for boost" myth also...makes for a great post

Sorry if your feelings got hurt, but I actually was being nice and I THOUGHT I provided some usefull advice to help you solve your debate......
I wish I had someone like me to give advice when i was first starting out...no need to sugar coat stuff, Tell it like it is, if you cant take the heat then get your ass out of the kitchen.

Do you know of a better way to get advice then from people who ACTUALLY own said products????
If you want biased answer ask people who own turbo's what they think of superchrged honda, and ask people who own supercharged honda's what they think of turbo's...
Or if you want unbiased advice (IMO the only usefull advice there is) as someone who owns a supercharger what he/she shinks of it and what they would change if they could, do the same to people who own turbo's...they way you'll get actual accounts of true experiences....
If you want biased advice i'll save you some time...

People who own turbo's will say turbo's are better because the power producing abilities are endless, you can up the boost whenever you want/need. A properly sized turbo will out power and out perform a supercharger any day of the week....

people who own superchargers will say..turbo's are to hard to tune, they are to risky. You can have a boost spike and blow your engine. turbo lag sucks, honda's need power down low like superchargers provide (in actuality a properly sized turbo will have little to no lag and make more power then a supercharger throughout the whole power band)....
I can go on all day...i've heard then all and seen them all i'm not new to this.
Please don't take that as me saying that I now everything because I don't. i've just been around this stuff long enough to know whats true and whats not.
If the stuff is to harsh for you then I recomend that you go back to your highschool shop class and let all the 16 year old kids tell you whats better and whats worse. because they of course know all that info because their 19 year old brother knows a friend of a friend who once saw a turbocharged honda and that guy once seen a supercharged honda in "superstreet or import tuner"
Another great place if you want company endorsed product backed biased advice about products, You know everything they print is the absolute truth.
I'm done trying to help you here.
Go to www.hondatech.com and see how long you last posting some of the stuff you have. It'll probably be locked or removed before to long. this site is great for the beginner, it has good info..but they are way more easy on you here.
Good day to you.

Are you the honda god? If so then i'm not worthy but I doubt you are. I was just asking a freaking question so if it sounds stupid to you then don't answer it! I've seen alot worse questions but as a honda owner it's kinda nice to help others that don't know too much. Everyone starts out not knowing anything and then picks everything up through experience. So because I have a dumb question, you directed me "in the right direction" i'm sposed to go to a high school and ask kids about honda performance??? I was asking questions for peoples opinions. If I want direct answers i'd actually do it and find out or dig into a book. Thank you for welcoming me to the site and one more question.....How many hp does your apc sticker on your windshield give you????

I'm sorry if you can't realize that I was just trying to offer you up some advice. I never once said your question was stuipid, I was trying to direct you in a way that would help you get the answers that you are looking for.
Maybe you should do a little "search" on me, and you'll realize what kind of person I really am.You can do the same on other honda forums as my screen name is the same. I don't change it, it's the same. You may be surprised to find that I'm not really here to attack you or your questions.

Damn simple answer... run both!.. my intake manifold is machined to have a port for the turbo, it spools up while the turbo charger is powering the engine, then it activates soon as the supercharger comes down on it's PSI, my engine running non stop boost!!!

I'm making madd horsepower ! lolz... jk about everything
