the h23 bottom end will be fine to 8k. the reason they have the revlimit lower is cause of the valve train and where it makes power

yea i hear this from a lot of people. but then i also hear the other side of it too...if not from moe peoples. what does the bmw z3 2.3 rev too, anyone? as a bm i'd think it be a lil high right?

You can't base what your h23vtec will rev to by what a z3 2.3 liter motor revs to. They are two completely different motors.

yea im not an idiot. i was merely wondering what a high end performance coupe which happens to have the same displacement as what im building revs to...which im told is 6.5k

i've found bmw's don't actually rev that high. Honda's are usually the highest revvers on the block (other than ferarri's, those fawkers rev till nine)
