Default My Car is Pissing.

Ok, This happens alot when i run my A/C so I figure it might be normal, but usually I notice alot of water (I think its water) underneath my car after I drive it, usually the A/C is on. today though, I noticed after just filling my coolant resovior a month or so ago its about empty again. I'm wondering if I have a leak somewhere and if thats the cause of the water. By alot I mean about puddles a foot or so long, almost like pouring a glass of water on the floor. Is it normal for the resovior to drain that fast in the summer while running the A/C. So is this nothing, or could their be a leak?

BTW, cars a 1994 Honda Accord EX

I had that same problem with my 93 acura. There ended up being a pinhole leak in the radiator where the plastic top met the aluminum and i was going through a whole jug of coolant like every couple weeks till i got a new radiator.

A little water on the ground is normal condensation if you've been runnin the a/c for a while, but it sounds like you have a leak too probably in your radiator. As long as your car isn't overheating there's no huge problem. try putting a bottle of 'barstop' (i think thats what its called) in there-- its a liquid with suspended copper that fixes the leak usually. Thats what i used until i saved up enough $$ for a new aluminum radiator and it worked alright. good luck

with a/c running, condensation will build up and there is a leak tube by the firewall which you can see from under the car. this is supposed to leak water.

but if you're downing coolant suspect the leak like these guys said.

so where do i get this at, and how would i go about adding it in, put it straight in the coolant resovior, or mix it with some water and antifreeze?

the stuff youar asking about can be had from most if not all auto supply stores..... one brand name is BARS stop leak but there are other stuff..... ( I prefure BARS) It comes in a lil container not to much bigger than a camera film case is. you just open the radiator cap ( coolant not hot to scold you) and just pour it in. thats all thats to it

It's meant as a temporary fix, once you solve the original problem, a coolant flush should take care of whatever else you may have potentially blocking flow.

You are so right.....don't ever use that crap, it will likely gum up your entire cooling system, not just the radiator!

And be sure you have a coolant leak before you jump the gun.......if the weather's hot and you are using A/C, then it's normal to get water (condensation) on the ground.

Check you coolant level, and check it again to see if it has dropped. If it drops significantly, then you have a leak.
