gsr pistons in ls/vtec

Default gsr pistons in ls/vtec

i was wondering if i would be able to use gsr pistons in a ls/vtec build,and is it a good/bad thing?if good could u tell me why and for bad also, i will be using a gsr head on the build,can someone help me out with some info, ive searched but no luck on it.

Yes, but frankly they don't have the compression to make power. If you want OEM pistons, I'd use the USDM or JDM Type R pistons.

i thought gsr compression ratio was 10:1 and the jdm gsr which i have is 10:6

I was under the impression that the deck height with a LS VTEC would be to short for a Ls crank rods and gsr pistons. Your best bet is to use B16a2 pistons or ctr pistons. The b16a2 (00 Si) will net you 11.3-11.5, with a ls crank and rods, the numbers go to 11.5-11.7 due to the better throw.

ill be using type r pistons now, i think my compression should be around 11:0-11:5, piston to deck height should be around 0.030in
