OBD-II in Civic '97 ?
Hello !
For 1st - I am sorry for my english.
I am looking information about OBD-II in my Honda Civic 97' 1.4iS 5 door h/b (made in UK). I cant find the OBD-II connector
I read alot of manuals and all of them says that Civics after 96' have a OBDII and it's located near driver dashboard. But there is nothing. I only found a 2 connectors near passenger side. The first - 2 pins Service Check Connector and second - 5 pins connector (purple, blue, blue-white, red-white, brown).
Does anyone could help me to understand - do I have a OBDII connector anywhere and what is that 5 pins connector ?
Thanks before, Alexey.

OBD2 requires that the connector be near the drivers side somewhere, usually, just below the dash near the steering column. Here is an example of a car side of the OBD2 connector:

In my 97 civic EX, the connector is pointed down and to the side at the top of the driver front kick panel.

Your car should have it... what country are you in? I use a www.scangauge.com device plugged to my OBD2 as I drive around. I love the info.

BTW, OBD2 consists of 3 different independent specifications depending upon which car manufacturer. For Honda, it's the ISO spec, which isn't free to the public. So hobbyists will either need to by and interface kit or buy the spec.
