A main cap girdle and oil squirters should be sufficient.

get stronger rods, too.

it might also be wise to get a higher volume oil pump such as gs-r/itr pump

you can get a gs-r main girdle, oil pan, windage tray etc and you'll be all set.

but with stock internals, it wouldnt be worth it, the ls wont make any power in RPMS that high. you will want to get higher c/r pistons and some new cams.

If you don't replace the rods, replace the rod bolts. They're a weak point.

keep in mind that if you only use aftermarket (ARP anyway) rod bolts, you will have to have your rods machined to use them or else you will have to worry about the rods getting mis-shaped.

Well iirc the vtec rod bolts are slightly larger in diameter than the nonvtec, so machining will be required even if he were to go with a "better" OEM bolt.

here is what I have prepared:
B18A1 block
1 lb shved polished balanced B18A1 crank
Eagle rods w/ Arp 8mm rod bolts
"Honda" bearings - rod main thrust
Pro fab 3 main girdle
B18A1 flywheel (not lightened)/ stage 2 clutch/ S1 trans
Fluidampr crank damper - single spool
Type R oil pan/ pickup/ windage
GSR oil pump
VTEC timing belt and VTEC water pump

3 things make me feel good = ARP rod bolts, 3 main girdle, fluidampr. If the internals are balanced.... "When you put your hand in a pile of goo that a moment earlier was your best friend.....you will know what to do!! and I don't want to hear that you are retreating. This Army will not retreat!! You will attack!! Spill thier blood!! Make them dead!! Make them retreat!! We will grab the 'Hun' by his nose and kick his butt from here to Berlin!! We're going to go through the German Army like shit through a goose!!!" George to his WWII Army.

if you use any crank and rod combo but LS, it defeats the purpose of using an LS bottom end. you must use LS rods and LS crank, you cant mix and match. whatever crank you use, you need matching rods.

i would go with b16a (PR3) pistons for a streetable c/r

you can use OEM gs-r/ITR main girdle but keep in mind, with this you need to use a gs-r/ITR oil pan. you would also want to use a gs-r oil pickup and windage tray along with a gs-r/itr oil pump. thats just precautionary stuff. you can usually find all of this stuff in one sweep on ebay.

do your really want to go through all the trouble to see 8k on your tach? just drop in a b18c1 or b16a ls is a good engine in all but if you want more rpms to reach your peak power get rid of the ls
