Default tranny? not lockin!!!

as yea'll know i got me a accord ex 5spd, and some times when im' on a light or about to go, my 1st gear dont go in u have to move it to neutral and try until it works? and it doesn that on reverse soemtimes?
as it happend to any of you honda techs????

does that mean i need to change my tranny fluid???(i know with HONDA MTF)

im curious too, mines does the same thing some times!!! Do you sometimes need to push a little harder than normal??

Take a look at this page. It'll also tell you why letting your car roll a couple inches can make getting into gear easier, especially in reverse.

I have that issue sometimes too and I found the best way is to put it in neutral, release the clutch, depress the clutch and try again for 1st gear.

try and hold the shifter in the 1st gear or reverse position and slowy release the clutch this worked great for me .....when i was running my sohc it takes some practice but you'll get the feel for it

your gear selector fork might be grabing 2 gears at 1nce, (just a thought), mines did.
