First of all, I just signed up because other forums I was on are just to slow, and this webforum seems to have huge ammounts of info and users.

But Im basically trying to rebuild my D16A6 form the ground up and Im looking for some articles/threads with great information on the disassembly/assembly, whats needed ahead of time as far as gaskets go.

Hoping to stay here for a long time. My jobs boring and I do nothing but basically get payed to surf.

I suggest getting a factory service manual for the car that the engine originally belongs in. It will have the needed info you need for specific clearances, bearing selections, assembly/disassembly instructions/diagrams, etc.

 

Ive got a Haynes but pictures in these manuals suck

And they skip a good ammount of things

They dont tell you about a lot of gaskets and seals and such

 

Haynes manuals do suck. Get a service manual on CD from ebay or something. Shouldn't run you more than $15 and it has everything the dealership mechanics need to fully service your vehicle.

i say trade in your d series and rebuild a b series DOHC.....

me too!!! lol. i would go B series! would be money well spent

 

your better off with a b18 or b16 in the end its cheper and you will get more bang for your buck!
