how did this occur, tell me some history on the motor, or did you just buy the car and you are walking into the door not knowing a thing just like me. has the timing belt been changed, or has it really needed it?? if it hasnt been changed, it may have jumped a tooth, it will cause it to idle very roughly and miss when under acceleration. when i said is the timing off, i meant the belt its self sorry for the confusion. let me know.

thanks man i will check my timing tomorrow night, yes i did buy the car with this motor in but i am good friends with the kid that had it (he got a promotion to manager at his work so he bought an rx8) and i bought his hatch. this problem occured after i bought the car, it started out as a miss i could live with, and now its horrible. i change the plugs and it goes away for about 10 mins and then it starts again????????? so yea im pretty lost, i geuss im obviously not getting good enough spark so i am gonna get a new distributor, thanks zach
