Default How bad is my LS tranny?

Okay, I'm sure everybody here knows the setup but just in case... I'm about to drop in my LS/VTEC...
11.5:1 compression JE pistons, Ealge rods, B16a head, ITR valvesprings/retainers, 330cc injectors, skunk2 computer, I/H/E

And a STOCK LS Tranny (93 YS1) I am curious as to just how bad that's going to be... am I still going to be slow? any estimates on 1/4-mile be 'preciated.

You'll want something with short gears.....either GSR or B16 tranny....maybe a JDM hydro y1 lsd tranny . That LS tranny is great for freeway races and boost, but on a N/A car you want shorter gears. My roomate replaced his GSR tranny with a b16 on his GSR hybrid, and the thing just went off the line screaming.

Well is it even worth my doing all that other stuff without changing the tranny? like I'm hoping to get mid to low13's in the 1/4... But the more I hear about the LS tranny the further that seems.

hell just stick with it and see, if you happen to come across another tranny for cheap then get it. i mean is this going to be a daily driver? cause if it is saving gas with the ls tranny is a good idea

It's still worth it to do, definitely. But you will see much better 1/4 mile times with a shorter geared tranny on that motor. Also, you might want to consider something other than ITR springs, like skunk2 is recommended by portflow. Then get some bigger cams and rev that ***** to 9.5 all day long. As far as what times you are expecting, that depends on a lot. Track condition, where the track is, weather conditions, driver, tires, etc. mid-low 13's I don't think you will hit with the LS tranny and no slicks. The c-speed racing fully built b20vtec ran mid 13's on street tires, and they had some weight reduction too. Check out www.c-speedracing.com and see it for yourself.
