How bad is my LS tranny?
Shorter gears = faster accleration, traction limited. I would definately recommend you consider getting a more aggressive geared tranny for your setup. Hell, a B16A tranny on your stock LS motor would have probably made it faster, higher highway RPM's and increased wear on the motor too though. Make sure you stick with a cable tranny or you'll have all kinds of nightmares getting it to work (they're cheaper anyway). Seeya.

Not nessicary, with the 1.8L displacement and if your motors running right and is tuned, you will most likely hand a B16A it's ass with either tranny. With a more aggressive geared tranny, you will be able to accellerate faster.
Think of it this way. Two people with equal physical strength on 2 10 speed bikes. They have a race and one guy uses gears 1-5 on the bike and the other uses 2-6. The guy on the 1-5 gear will accelearte faster but shift sooner and more often. The on the 2-6 will have to work harder and accellerate slower, but will eventually reach a higher top speed and have an easier time maintaining a constant high speed. Neither is really a priority unless your really worried about gas milage or trying to get yourself killed or thrown in jail. In a racing context like drag racing or road racing where you never redline in 5th gear, the shorter gearing will be better. Seeya.

Okay... Long as I can beat a B16a civic and a Type-R with bolt-ons, I'll work on the rest, cuz that's the fastest honda around right now... Once I break-in, I might be able to take a loan out for a transmission lol
... So let me ask you this... Where would I get a short-geared calbe tranny for the B-series? older Del-Sol's maybe?
Thanks.

The only VTEC short geared cable tranny I can think of is the B17A's (2nd Gen GS-R Integra, good luck finding one). Most likely you would need to contact a JDM importer. The first gen B16A's came with them, a lot with factory LSD too. Cable trannies are cheap as well, probably $500 or so shipped (so I've heard, never priced one myself). Seeya.
