timing is (i think) 2 degrees retarded. it's at the outer red line on the crank pulley, which i think means 14 btdc, but i could be wrong. what should it be set at? thanks.

you need to use a timing light on the motor....and set the timing at the distributer not the crank pulley. aim the light at the mark on the timing cover and it will flash when the notch on the pulley comes around and that tells your timing

The outer red line is 18, middle is 16, inner red line (closest to the white TDC mark) is 14.

yeah, sorry i meant the light flashes at the inner red mark, which would mean it's at 14 btdc. is this where it should be?

Why has no one really mentioned injectors here? OEM is what, 220? I have a good feeling that you might be LEANING out, not running rich.

Are you blowing any smoke when you're into boost? Notice any fuel economy differences? What color are your spark plugs?

stock are 240cc I thought he said he was runnin at 8psi but couldn't find that anywhere so I dunno. up to 10psi on most turbo kits and a FMU is still rich enough to fend off detonation but you have a good point depending on the air temp, etc etc

you were right, i'm at 8 psi. plugs are a little white but not too bad. i haven't really noticed any smoke into boost, and i haven't driven the car enough to notice fuel economy. what should my timing be set at??

another thing, could a leaking head gasket have anything to do with this problem? i have some oil on top of my tranny that looks like it's coming from between the head and block, but it's also on the side of the head, so i think it may be coming from the distributor. just a thought...

yeah it could be a head gasket.....if you change it buy a inline pro and some bigger injecters and turn the boost up......timing should be 13-14 degrees so you should be good

I'd check the distrib. seal before you go pulling the head off. Do the simple stuff first.

I dunno about timing... I run Hondata. :happysad:
