Default B20 question

Okay here is my question. Are 99-up JDM B20Bs you know the one with the LS type Intake manifold the same as 99-up B20Zs in terms of compression & power wise, becuase some JDM dealers have B20Bs for about $750 and, I found junkyards with B20Zs for about $900-$950. I would rather the most powerful motor stock between the 2 because I plan on building it up NA, but due to lack of $$$ I will be running around with just bolt ons for a while and need some type of power in that time period too.

The 99+ JDM B20B is the higher compression one. Another way to tell besides the intake manifold, is to look and see if there is a knock sensor in the back of the block. Only the higher compression B20's had the knock sensor. They are hard to find, so consider yourself lucky if you get one...I looked for a while and couldn't get one in SOCAL.
