Default Help ... Broken axle?

It all started when i finally got my bottle heater working again so i went to go check everything out. I pulled out and punched it there was a pretty significant amount of wheel hop. When i let off the throttle about midway through 2nd gear the car started to shake pretty bad. As long as i go 25 or so it doesnt shake at all you can hear some noise occasionally, it sounds like it might be an axle but im not sure. Its not the motor or tranny cause the motor i reved up and didnt sound any differnt then normal and the tranny shifts fine and there are no leaks... but maybe im wrong? Anyone know what i might have done, anything i should check. Any info at all would be a great help. Check my sig for info on the car.
Thanks,
Matt

I'm thinking busted trans or engine mount.

I strongly doubt you've snapped an axle.

When you "punched it", was this with the nitrous active or without?

All in all, there is little that any of us can do to diagnose this via the intArweb. h: You'll have to get under the hood and run through all the likely culprits.

If you snaped an axle.. u'd know it!

like NorCal said.. probly a mount.. look around & see but if it makes more noise while the engine/tranny are under more of a load it's probly coz the sucker is flyin all over the place under u'r hood.. check it out.. also, if u ever hear wheel hop again.. LET OF THE GAS!

Wheel hop is extremly bad for a car.. upgrade your suspension!

& just a lil note.. something seems wrong if the nitrous is only taking .5 sec. off u'r 1/4 time.

Alright thanks for all the replies, ill have to go run through and see what i can find. I was spraying when this happened.

And to the one who said somethign was wrong with it the run was made in a 90 degree plus day and it was humid as shit and also before i got the header.. so i didnt think it was to bad.

Thanks again for all the replies

Did you also check the bracket for the half shaft that mounts to the back of the motor? That may be loose and causing some problems. Check that as well.

Went and took a look at the mounts and they seem fine but i still needa jack the car up to take a look at the rear one. Should i rev the motor to see if the motor will rock and try to find it that way? i guess im just wondering what is the best way to approach trying to solve this problem. If it was my transmission would it really make my car shake? Also at idle there is slightly more vibration but not much.

it could also be the counter balance on the axle it self, ive had that problem and the tire wobbled above a certain speed.
