Default egr valve

I Have A 98 Honda Accord. With The 3.0 Vtec.my Check Engine Light Keeps Comming On . Took To Autozone They Said The Egr Valve.was The Problem. They Told Me It Was Like $250.00 For Part. Kind Of Broke Right Now. Wondering If Anyway Around This For Temp. Fix? My State Immisions Is Up This Month.and Affraid When They Plug Into It It Wont Pass. Open For Suggestions. Thanks Darin

EGR valve should be about $100-150 from a dealer. They are usually pretty easy to replace. Try to get a Helms or Chiltons manual. I have not worked on a V6 accord so I can't tell you much more.

Take it off and try to clean it out with carburator cleaner. That usually gets them working again. Be sure to use a new gasket.

Hey Darin, did Take off the EGR Valve and cleaning it out with carburator cleaner and replacing the gasketwork?
