Default Redline on B18C 93 Civic EX

I've taken the car up past 8000 (guess around 8200) RPM. When is the rev limiter supposed to kick in?
When I had my 97 Prelude, the limiter came in about 8200 (from memory), or just a little after the redline.

This is generally determined by what ecu you are using.

Yes, the stock tachs are only in the general vicinity of where the engine is actually running. They lose their accuracy as the rpms increase, usuallt within +100 or -100 of the correct rpm. It is close enough for most.

The engine code B18C is a home market DC2 ITR motor.

If you're using the ECU that would normally be used with that motor, the redline isn't 'til 8650. The tachs that came w/those cars were optimistic, deliberately, and by the gauge it's possible it'll look like the lmiter's cutting in at 9000.
