Default B series catylitic convertor/exhaust bolt up in 92 Civic

Got a question for all you hybrid folks.

Getting a B18C into a 92-95 Civic (specifically sedan) Was wondering what catylitic convertor you guys used. I know for sure the LS cat bolts right up to the DC header and exhaust without needing to extend or shorten the piping for the hatchback.

My setup is going to be the B18C with the JDM Type R 4-1 header. Am I going to need to lengthen or shorten the piping to make it bolt up? I know the Coupe and Sedan share the same length exhausts. Anyone else with this setup? What catylictic convertor did you use? I was told to use the LS cat. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I'd find a high flow aftermarket or make a pipe, all DOHC VTEC cars have better higher flowing cats to help them move the exhaust at the top of the rev range. So maybe even one off of a GSR or Del Sol VTEC. But I can't specifically answer your question, just a tip.

I do believe that the JDM 4-1 header will have a 2.5" collector so you won't find an OEM cat with that size flange on it. You will either need aftermarket or the JDM cat.

Either way, you will have to have the exhaust lengthened to meet up with the cat or have a spacer pipe made to fit the difference.

yep...

what i have now is the JDM 4-1 header, 2.5 flange, LS Carsound cat. I know i need the flange welded on he cat...i just hope the cat reaches the exhaust.

if the cat doesn't reach the exhaust. minor cut and hack.

any exhaust shop should be able to whip up a flange, and flare it down to the 2.25 piping of the rs-r.

os is the rs-r 2.5 inch piping??

I dunno, either way if it doesn't line up, just $50 to modify it to fit.

reaaaaly? I didn't know the RS*R was that free-flowing. Is it ~2.5" piping or just the tip opening?
