check engine light

so this thing being on, do i lose power? i have a 97 prelude. check light is on because i was ripped with a cat converter. says its bad, am i losing power with this happenin?

Probably, as any trouble code will make the ECU go in to safe mode. I'm not sure what you mean about the cat.

im not sure exactly what code, but they say the code just says its bad, O2 sensors are fine, just the cat is bad.
