My 94' ls motor went down about 2 years ago and I brought a used 95' ls motor... No problem... I wanted to prepare the motor for turbo, so I went ahead and brought JE pistons (low compression) and Eagle Rods and a blockguard. Everything was going well until we noticed that the pistons didn't reach up to the top end of the block... (I think they sold me the wrong ones because I had to bore the block a little) Anyways I left it like that... My car ran just fine... It was a little lazy going up hills etc. I left it like that for about a year... So I finally made turbo on my car, and my question is.... Will the pistons effect my performance????

 

The low compression turbo pistons you bought didn't reach the top of the deck, and you have lost performance.

That's weird.
