If your check engine light is on and you take the car to a dealer, that is exactly what they do. Once they have the code, the shop manual has troubleshooting flowcharts for that particular code.

If you don't have a check engine light then the process isn't quite as simple.

I'm going to have to agree... Sounds like the Igniter or the Coil. Neither of them are in the distributor on the Vigor/2.5TL. It just has the cap, rotor and a couple of sensors.

To confirm the Vigor does indeed have an EGR valve.

The honda dealership tried to replace the M.A.P. Sensor, but that did not fix it.

Do you still think Ignitor? Its been tested, and its getting spark, but I dont know if its been tested right after/during it dies.

What about the computer?

Thanks for the helP!!

Ok, so the ignitor has been tested while its dead, and its getting spark.

It got the error code 3 and they tried the MAP sensor, nothing... Now they want to replace the crank angle sensor.

I'd try the crack angle sensor.

If that doesn't work, I'd look into a bad ECU.

Since my last reply to this thread, its been fixed.

The seals where worn away in the camshaft, and oil was gushing into the distributer.
