Default Air intake for GSR swap

I'm about to swap a GSR into my '96 DX coupe. I'm wondering what air intake I should use for it. (air intake from GSR or SI) I don't know how much room I will have under the hood yet, because it isn't swapped in.

I did a search but the question was not clearly answered. They mentioned that a CAI for a GSR would not fit into a civic. But that swap also had a Skunk2 IM. I don't know if that changed the position of the throttle body or not.

They mentioned try putting a B16 CAI, but the guy did not reply to say if it worked or not. If anyone can confirm what would fit, I'd really appreciate it.

if the gsr has a skunk2manifold use a 99-00 civic si intake.

my iceman gsr intake fit my eg. but it scraped alot.

near the end i just made it sit in the engine bay since it sat so damn low.

i would just recommend the cheap j's racing intake from www.ajracing.com

aem for the gsr will not fit the civic chassis, if you do make it work. it'll rub like crazy.

if the gsr has a skunk2 manifold. don't use a gsr intake period.

My swap doesn't have the Skunk2 IM, it's the stock intake. So I'll just get the SI intake.

Thanks Bumnah! Much appreciated

I had an AEM CAI from a '95 GS-R in my '92 CX. It touched the overflow bottle for the radiator, didn't hurt anything, but it did touch (I was going to relocate the bottle, but never did). My '92 CX also didn't have a threaded hole in the top of the frame rail to install AEM's mount (A GS-R would have) so I just let it sit on top of the frame rail. This caused it to rub against the front tranny mount and when I pulled it off a year or so later it had started to rub a hole. I hadn't failed and actually opened yet, but it was rubbing. I covered the spot in duct tape and later too the mount off and grinded the corner that was rubbing with a bench grinder and didn't have any other issues. I would assume the issues would be the same with an EK chassis ('96-'00 Civic). The skunk2 manifold relocates the TB to the normal B-series location and you can use the CAI for a '99-'00 SI. The factory dual plenum B18C1 manifold puts the TB a little lower than normal so you have to use a GS-R CAI or probably any under the hood style intake (most of those can simply be adusted to fit since they just rest under the hood).

I'll stick with a ram air to make sure I don't run into any complications. Thanks!
