160,000 + turbo + nitrous = blown or not
i have a 93 integra and i want to put a turbo on it because it will give me more power than an engine swap but there is some things i need to know first i will have about 160,000 miles on it when i put the turbo on it and i woundering if it going to take all the power or will it just blow up and whant to put nitrous if u guys think i need to make it stronger plz tell me what i need to do to do so what parts i might need or if i should just do and engine swap and have 170hp instead of 225hp+
160,000 + Turbo + Nitrous = you're "not a very bright guy" with a blown engine.
The engine probably needs a rebuild to take either by now, and you have no idea how hardcore an engine has be to use both. We're talking serious money devoted race car.

I'm not an expert at this, but what he said is pretty much correct. You just can't slap those things on as bolt-ons.
Hows the motor? Good compression? No problems? If the motor is stil good you could throw a turbo on it. Do you have a b17 or b18a1? A local here in texas named philip has an ls/vtec turbo setup using a b18a bottom end with 170k+ miles on it. He just ran 12.3 @ 116 last weekend. Any motor with boost is eventually going to blow. You might as well put the turbo on until it does instead of rebuilding before.
i was just thinking of doing a b16a2 swap and put a greddy turbo and just do that it will cost me around 4500 the turbo i wanted for the car was going to be 3600 so i think i could just to that and get 20hp more
well I would first off do a compression test. Just because your motor has high miles doesn't really mean anything, it could still be in good shape. Hel;l I boosted 12psi on my stock D16z6 motor with 145k on it and it compression tested at 197 acros the board. Never ahd any problems with it. I wouldn't spray it and boost, one or the other or build it up for both.
If you need either items let me know and I can get them for you.

Your going to spend 3600 dollars for only 20hp?
Your better off just buying i/h/e im sure that will net you 20 + HP and you save yourself a few hundred, possibly thousand.
The syntax wasn't the greatest but I believe what he meant was that a B16A with a turbo would be 20 hp more than a turbo on his current motor.
To the original poster: since you're in the early stages of this the best thing you can do is figure out real answers to these questions.
- How much money do you want to spend?
- How much power do you want to make?
- How much risk of blowing your motor are you willing to take?
